Bvavura to Begin Zimbabwe Lithium Production

Bvavura Holdings, a company owned by Nigerian entrepreneur Benedict Peters, is poised to begin production at its lithium project in Zimbabwe in 2025, despite current market conditions. According to Group General Manager Gbenga Ojo, the company remains committed to commissioning the Kamativi lithium tailings project, which will produce 30,000 tons of spodumene concentrate annually.

The project, which involves reprocessing waste material from a tin mine that closed three decades ago, has the potential to significantly contribute to the global lithium supply. The Zimbabwean government holds a 40% stake in the project, demonstrating its support for the venture.
