Zimbabwe national team coach Michael Nees expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance in their 2025 Afcon Qualifiers match against Cameroon on Tuesday. The goalless draw at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala, Uganda, showcased the Warriors’ determination and dominance throughout the game.
Despite creating numerous chances, the team’s lack of luck and finishing skills prevented them from scoring. Nees praised his team’s confidence and quality of play, stating, “I am super satisfied with the performance… We deserved a little more with better finishing.”
The draw places Zimbabwe third in Group J with two points, while Cameroon takes second place with four points. Kenya leads the group with four points, and Namibia remains at the bottom with no points.
The Warriors will face Namibia in back-to-back encounters in October, seeking to improve their position in the qualifiers. Nees’ positive assessment of his team’s performance bodes well for their future matches.
