Journalists at Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) are up in arms over poor management decisions that are allegedly crippling the once-thriving media house. The workers claim that top executives have made questionable financial decisions, prioritizing golf tournaments and lavish trips over staff welfare. According to the journalists, these tournaments, which can cost over $10,000 per event, have yielded zero returns, raising suspicions about who benefits from these ventures.

The journalists are also questioning the financial management of recent events, such as the Energy Summit in Victoria Falls, which allegedly incurred staggering losses and left service providers unpaid despite a $75,000 funding commitment. Workers allege that management’s priorities are misplaced, and their actions border on thievery, citing instances where executives slept in executive rooms while ministers and government directors were given standard rooms.
The journalists are also unhappy about their working conditions and compensation, claiming they are now working two weeks a month and have had allowances such as medical aid and transport scrapped without notice. They feel reduced to “farm or factory labourers” and are demanding better working conditions and financial management from the company’s top executives, led by owner Trevor Ncube.
