At just 11 years old, he told his parents about his ambition and even aced the exam to get into Air Force college, beating out 59,999 other applicants. However, his dreams of flying were shattered when he failed an eye test in his third year. This setback could have derailed his future, but Sikandar Raza is a man who refuses to give up.

Sikandar’s journey to international cricket was unconventional, to say the least. He picked up the sport semi-professionally while studying at Glasgow Caledonian University and later moved to Zimbabwe, where his parents had settled. He made his first-class debut in 2007 and gradually worked his way up, scoring 625 runs at an average of 41 in the 2010-11 season. His talent and hard work eventually caught the attention of Zimbabwe Cricket, and he made his international debut in 2013 against Bangladesh.
