Manage daily mining activities including drilling, blasting, hauling and extraction.
Develop strategies to meet production targets, minimise downtime, and monitor ore quality.
Optimise resource usage, manage budgets, cost control in the section and reduce waste.
Provides adequate safety measures and interventions to eliminate injuries, fatalities and equipment damages.
Coordinate shift activities, allocate tasks and ensure compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures.
Enforce statutory mining regulations and company policies, ensuring compliance with Mining (Management and Safety)
Regulations (S1109 of 1990), and safety protocols in the sections.
Conduct regular safety drills and risk assessment to identify potential risks and mitigate hazards.
Provides guidance and mentorship to the mining team ensuring they are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
Maintain detailed shift reports, production logs and incident reports.
