The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has issued a public statement clarifying that it has not approved the membership application submitted by the Zimbabwe Football Federation for Amateur and Social Leagues (ZIFASOL). As such, ZIFA has taken strong action against the continued operations of ZIFASOL, which it says are in breach of the official football governance framework. ZIFA revealed that despite the rejection of its membership, ZIFASOL has proceeded to organise football activities at the area zone level. The association stressed that the organisation and administration of football at this level is strictly under the authority of ZIFA and its officially recognised affiliates. No independent organisation, including ZIFASOL, is permitted to run such football structures without formal approval.

In addition to unauthorised competitions, ZIFA has also raised concern over training and education programmes reportedly conducted by ZIFASOL. The association stated that these initiatives are not accredited or endorsed, and therefore declared them null and void.To maintain the integrity of football in Zimbabwe, ZIFA has ordered the immediate suspension of all activities associated with ZIFASOL, describing them as a form of parallel administration, which directly contravenes the statutes and regulations governing football in the country. ZIFA has also directed all clubs and leagues involved in ZIFASOL competitions to realign themselves with the officially sanctioned ZIFA Area Zones without delay.

The association reiterated its commitment to the structured and lawful development of football in Zimbabwe. It called on all stakeholders to uphold the rules and structures established to protect and grow the sport. For further information and guidance, ZIFA encouraged affected parties to reach out to their nearest ZIFA office.
