ZRP Cracks Down on Illegal Liquor Production in Harare

The Zimbabwe Republic Police have arrested over 30 individuals connected to Mambo Manufacturing Company for operating an illegal liquor production facility in Harare. Among those taken into custody are company directors, managers, and employees accused of manufacturing alcoholic spirits without the necessary licenses or adherence to health and safety regulations.

According to police reports, the suspects were producing spirits in violation of public health standards, posing serious risks to consumers. The operation was uncovered following investigations into unregulated alcohol distribution in the capital. Authorities say the company failed to meet statutory requirements governing the production and sale of alcoholic beverages.

During the raid, law enforcement officers seized substances valued at US$165,000 believed to be used in the illicit manufacturing process. The arrests mark a significant step in the ZRP’s ongoing efforts to clamp down on illegal alcohol operations and protect public health. Investigations are continuing, and more arrests may follow.
