Albert Joel Nduna Appointed Interim Board Chairman Of ZESA

Albert Joel Nduna has been appointed as the interim board chairman of the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA). This appointment comes after the sudden death of Dr. Sydney Gata, the former executive chairman, whose position has been abolished. Nduna brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with a strong background in corporate governance and leadership.

Cletus Nyachowe has been appointed as the acting chief executive officer of ZESA, effective July 17. Nyachowe is a seasoned engineer with a background in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Zimbabwe. He has over three decades of experience in the power sector, including leadership roles at Powertel Communications and senior operational positions at ZESA.

The new leadership duo is expected to drive ZESA’s mission forward and advance the government’s aspirations of achieving total electrification and universal access to power and data by 2030. According to ZESA’s executive director for human capital, Fortune Sambo, Nduna and Nyachowe bring decades of corporate and sectoral expertise to the organization, which will be invaluable in realizing these ambitious goals.
