Our #MCM today is Herbert Nkala, a distinguished Zimbabwean businessman and corporate leader whose career spans decades of significant contributions to the country’s economy. Born in Insiza, he was raised with a strong sense of discipline and purpose, which set the stage for a professional journey marked by determination and success.

His strategic career moves and bold decisions have been pivotal in his success. After starting as a teacher, Nkala took a pay cut to join Dairibord as a production trainee, quickly rising through the ranks to become Marketing Director.

At National Breweries, Nkala showcased his creative genius with the development and launch of the iconic Zambezi Lager brand. This achievement highlighted his ability to connect with the market and drive growth.

Nkala’s leadership capabilities shone brightly as Group Chief Executive Officer of the Rainbow Tourism Group. Under his tenure, the company expanded its hotel portfolio and successfully listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.

With experience spanning various sectors, including food and beverages, hospitality, and media, Nkala has demonstrated versatility and a deep understanding of Zimbabwe’s business landscape. He has held non-executive director roles at prominent companies like Tanganda Tea Company.

Today, Nkala’s influence is felt across Zimbabwe’s economy, serving as Chairman of FBC Holdings, OK Zimbabwe Limited, Turnall Fibre Cement, and Zimbabwe Grain Bag, while also leading his own company, Arena Investments, and nurturing future leaders through his role in the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Scholarship Foundation.
