A 38-year-old Zimbabwean national, System Chorumba, has been arrested in Dublin, Ireland, following a string of burglaries targeting women’s homes. Unlike typical thefts involving electronics or cash, Chorumba’s motive was unusual—he allegedly broke into residences to steal women’s underwear. The arrest was made on August 12, 2025, after local police traced multiple incidents to his apartment, where over 60 pieces of lingerie were recovered.

Investigators believe Chorumba carried out the break-ins during daytime hours while residents were at work. The pattern of entry and the specific nature of the stolen items raised concerns about the psychological intent behind the crimes. Neighbors in the area described him as “polite but mysterious,” noting that he kept to himself and rarely interacted with others in the building.
Chorumba is currently in police custody and faces multiple charges, including burglary and possession of stolen property. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine whether additional victims may be involved. The case has sparked public concern over privacy and safety, especially among women living alone in the affected neighborhoods.
