Genesis Service Station in Dangamvura suffered significant losses after four masked men, armed with a rifle and iron bars, raided the premises and escaped with US$2,350 in cash and a motor vehicle. The incident took place in the early hours of 17 August 2025, around 2 a.m. The suspects stormed the station and fired a warning shot into the air to intimidate two employees on duty, Never Bhasera and Kevin Gwaramba, who attempted to resist their demands.
The robbers reportedly used explosives to blow open a wall-mounted safe and grabbed the cash inside. They then hotwired a Nissan Sunnybox parked at the station to make their getaway, but the vehicle ran out of fuel just 20 metres from the scene, forcing them to abandon it and flee on foot. A police officer based at Dangamvura Base heard the gunshot and alerted the Dangamvura Police Station, which promptly responded. Despite their efforts, nothing was recovered, and the suspects remain at large.
