The Government of Zimbabwe has allocated ZWG 147,682,500 to Zanu PF and the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) under the Political Parties (Finance) Act, according to a notice published in the Government Gazette. The disbursement reflects the parties’ performance in the 2023 Harmonised Elections, with Zanu PF receiving 69.3% of the vote and CCC securing 30.7%. The funds are intended to support party operations for the 2025 financial year.

Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi confirmed the breakdown: Zanu PF will receive ZWG 102,343,972.50, while CCC is allocated ZWG 45,338,527.50. The Act stipulates that only parties with at least five percent of the national vote qualify for public funding. This mechanism is designed to promote transparency and reduce reliance on foreign donations, which are prohibited under Zimbabwean law.

This latest disbursement marks a significant increase from the ZWG 70 million allocated in 2024, underscoring the growing cost of political administration. Both parties are expected to use the funds for institutional strengthening, outreach, and policy development ahead of future electoral cycles. The move also reaffirms the state’s commitment to financing democratic processes through regulated channels.
