Zimbabwe will play its 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on 10 October, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has confirmed. The fixture, originally scheduled to be held in Francistown, Botswana, was relocated after the venue became unavailable due to scheduling conflicts with Botswana’s own national team.

Following a regional venue assessment, ZIFA narrowed its options to Orlando Stadium and Moses Mabhida Stadium in South Africa. The Durban venue was ultimately selected based on logistical efficiency, cost considerations, infrastructure quality, and fan safety. ZIFA emphasized that the decision was made to provide the Warriors with the best possible conditions to compete at a high level.

Despite the disappointment of not hosting the match on home soil, ZIFA has called on Zimbabwean supporters to rally behind the national team. The clash against Bafana Bafana is a pivotal moment in Zimbabwe’s World Cup qualifying campaign, and the association hopes the Durban setting will still allow for strong fan turnout and spirited support.
