Three senior NetOne executives are under internal scrutiny for allegedly bypassing procurement rules in billboard contracts. Marketing head Catherine Gijima is accused of hiring Brunok Investments without tender, while procurement boss Bornface Chidzodzo claims the process was handled by juniors. Chief commercial officer Learnmore Masunda, once close to CEO Raphael Mushanawani, is also implicated in the fallout.

The scandal unfolds as Mushanawani battles US$1.2 million fraud charges, arrested last week in a power struggle with Masunda. Despite the arrest, NetOne’s board has backed Mushanawani, deepening divisions within the company. Political figures are reportedly involved, with State House names allegedly used for leverage in the boardroom feud.

Whistleblowers say Brunok Investments began work before paperwork was filed, exposing NetOne to financial risk. Calls are growing for a full investigation by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission. Gijima declined to comment, while Chidzodzo said he needs to review documents. Masunda denies targeting Mushanawani’s contract renewal.
