The High Court has dismissed Abigail Makono’s bid to stop the sale of her property, ruling she must pay her ex-husband Charles Makono $600,000 as part of a divorce settlement. Justice Regis Dembure found her challenge baseless and condemned it as an abuse of court process.

Makono had argued that the Kaguvi Street property was jointly owned and that Charles failed to sign key documents, preventing her from fulfilling the court order. But evidence showed Charles had complied months earlier, and Makono had made no formal demand for the paperwork.

The judge upheld the writ of execution and ordered punitive costs against Makono. Her property will now be auctioned to recover the debt, marking a dramatic end to the couple’s legal battle and enforcing the financial terms of their separation.
