Our #MCM today is Davison Norupiri, the founder and Group CEO of Davipel Holdings. He started in 2002 with just two employees and a monthly output of 150kg. Today, Davipel is Zimbabwe’s largest corn snack manufacturer, with divisions in snacks, maize milling, stockfeed, and freight services.

Norupiri’s early life was modest, shaped by a drive to build something lasting. Though details of his childhood are private, his business instincts were clear from the start. He entered the private sector with a vision: build a Zimbabwean-owned manufacturing brand that could scale nationally.
Davipel’s growth wasn’t smooth. Norupiri built his empire during economic turbulence, betting on local sourcing, machinery upgrades, and brand protection. His mantra—“Where others see risk, we see opportunity”—became the company’s DNA.

Beyond Davipel, Norupiri served as president of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce. He pushed for policies that support local entrepreneurs and industrial growth, always linking private sector innovation to national development.
In 2018, he won the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Award for Southern Africa (Exceptional Category). The award recognized his financial performance, innovation, integrity, and influence across the region. It cemented his status as one of Southern Africa’s top business minds.

Today, Norupiri continues to lead Davipel with sharp focus. His story—from 150kg to industry titan—is a blueprint for resilience. He’s not just a businessman; he’s a strategist, a mentor, and a symbol of Zimbabwean industrial pride.
