Amanda Nyanzero – new Chief Executive Officer of the Ngezi Platinum Stars

Football leadership being supplanted by women.

Amanda Nyanzero is the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ngezi Platinum Stars, the newly crowned premier soccer league champions. She replaces Yvonne Mapika-Manwa, who took up the same role at the Zimbabwe Football Association earlier this month.

According to a press release, Mrs. Manwa’s duties in this position will include overseeing the Zimbabwe Football Association secretariat as it moves into the next phase under the Normalization Committee.

“Mrs. Manwa has years of experience in senior leadership and football administration positions. She was the Chief Executive Officer of Ngezi PlatinumStars, an elite football club.”

Roberta Katunga, the club’s media liaison officer for Ngezi Platinum stars, confirmed Nyazero’s appointment in a press release, showcasing her remarkable background and credentials, which include a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) degree from the University of Zimbabwe and her current pursuit of a PhD in Governance.

 

Heading the club’s Secretariat, maintaining the club culture, creating plans, and making sure the club develops holistically and sustainably will all be important tasks for Nyazero the club work to create an institution that will outlast all of us and advance to the next level of football administration.

Amanda’s goals include getting Ngezi Platinum to field a women’s team in order to comply with Confederation of African Football (CAF) regulations and allow the team to play in major continental competitions.

Being the first Mashonaland West team to win the Castle Lager Premiership, Ngezi Platinum recently accomplished a historic feat.
