Well known robbers sentenced to 52 years in prison. Three well-known robbers, Musa Taj Abdul, Charles Lundu, and Sean Andile Dhlamini, who were found guilty of committing 13 armed robberies, primarily in the Borrowdale area of Harare, have been sentenced to 52 years in prison.

Harare Regional Magistrate Mr Ignatio Mhene handed down the sentences, with each defendant receiving 10 years for the first count. The remaining 12 counts were combined and reduced to seven counts, resulting in each individual being sentenced to seven years imprisonment. This brings the total sentence to 52 years.

To provide a degree of leniency, eight years were suspended on the condition that the defendants do not commit a similar offense within the next five years. Additionally, four years were suspended on the condition that they repay the complainant of the first count a sum of US$2,416 by March 30. Furthermore, an additional two years were suspended on the condition that they restitute a total of US$1,070 to other complainants.

As a result, they will serve an effective 38 years in jail.
