Zim to host T201 Series. Zimbabwe has secured the hosting rights for a five-match T20I series against India in July. The series will take place in Harare from July 6 to 14, immediately following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. Four of the matches will be day games, commencing at 1pm local time, while the third match will be a night game starting at 6pm.

Zimbabwe Cricket chairman, Tavengwa Mukuhlani, expressed great excitement about hosting India for this T20I series. He emphasized the significance of this tour as Zimbabwe continues to strive to re-establish itself as a formidable force in international cricket.

The last time India toured Zimbabwe was in August 2022 for a three-match ODI series, which India won 3-0. Since then, the two teams have only met once across formats, during the T20 World Cup in Australia that same year. In their previous encounters, India has emerged victorious in six out of the eight T20Is played against Zimbabwe.

Unfortunately, Zimbabwe was unable to qualify for this year’s T20 World Cup, despite a record number of 20 teams participating for the first time. They also missed out on qualification for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Overall, this T20I series against India presents Zimbabwe with an opportunity to showcase their cricketing abilities and showcase their progress in reclaiming their status as a competitive cricketing nation.
