Former ZiFM presenter Lorraine Bgoya fined for stealing alcohol

Former ZiFM presenter and producer, Lorraine Bgoya, has been fined for stealing alcohol valued at US$29 from Food Lovers Market.

Bgoya, known for her popular show Off the Wall, was fined US$100 in court. Additionally, she received a one-month suspended sentence under the condition that she repays Food Lovers Avondale the sum of US$29 for the unrecovered bottle. This decision was pronounced by Harare magistrate Gamuchirai Gore.

Bgoya admitted to the theft of a 750ml bottle of Malibu on February 21 without being caught. She revisited the store three days later and proceeded to take a 750ml bottle of Beefeater London Strawberry gin from the liquor shelf, concealing it in her handbag. Surveillance footage from the store’s CCTV system captured her actions, leading to her arrest by internal security personnel as she exited the premises.
