Rapper and musician Alishias Musimbe aka Maskiri is now into the importation and breeding of Boer goats and Kalahari Red, two popular breeds known for their high quality meat and adaptability to various climates.

The 43-year-old who rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits like ‘Tambudzai’ and ‘Zverudo Zvaramba’ said he has always dreamt of being a farmer while growing up in Chitungwiza whenever he visited his village in Hwedza. His passion for farming started during his childhood visits to his rural home in Wedza where he would spend time with his family and learn about agriculture.

Maskiri said he is in partnership with Tatenda Gift Mashozhera (38) and they have been together in the goat farming business since July last year.

Tatenda first ventured into goat breeding in 2018 after being laid off as a waiter in Namibia.
“I am operating from Seke and hope to get a farm after the Government’s land audit. So far, we own over 100 pure breeds from Namibia.
My wish is to ensure ready availability of these goats countrywide at an affordable price,” said Maskiri.
