Statement from the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe

Neville Mutsvangwa, the 44-year-old son of ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa and Women’s Affairs Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, has been denied bail by the Harare Magistrates Court. Neville, a suspected foreign currency dealer, appeared in court earlier facing several criminal charges.

Neville is jointly charged with Simbarashe Tichingana and Ellis Majachani, and faces charges including money laundering and dealing in foreign currency. He also faces an additional charge of breaching the Telecommunications Act.

The court denied Neville bail, citing that he poses a flight risk if released. This means that Neville will remain in custody until his next court appearance on May 30 for routine remand.

Neville’s legal battles are far from over, as he prepares to face the charges against him in the coming weeks. The denial of bail marks a significant setback for his defense team, and it remains to be seen how the case will unfold.
