Born on August 14, 1973, in Harare, Zimbabwe, Tavaziva Madzinga is a true African success story. Growing up in a family that valued education, Tavaziva excelled in his studies and went on to attend the University of Cape Town, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Actuarial Science.
After completing his studies, Tavaziva began his career in the insurance industry, working his way up the ranks in various roles in Zimbabwe and South Africa. His dedication and expertise soon earned him recognition, and he became a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) and a Member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) in the UK.
Tavaziva’s impressive career spans over two decades, with notable stints at Liberty Holdings, Standard Bank, and most recently, Santam, where he serves as the Group Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, Santam has continued to thrive, solidifying its position as a leading financial services and insurance provider in Eastern and Southern Africa.
Throughout his journey, Tavaziva has faced numerous challenges, including navigating complex business landscapes and overcoming personal obstacles. However, his unwavering determination, resilience, and passion for excellence have enabled him to achieve remarkable success.
