Dr Mboweni’s educational background is impressive, to say the least. He holds a Masters in Business Leadership from UNISA, a BSc Maths and Computer Science degree from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Business Leadership from the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU). His academic achievements have earned him a well-deserved spot as a Professor of Practice at the University of Johannesburg.

Dr Mboweni’s journey with Econet Wireless Zimbabwe began in 1996, when he joined the company as a Billing Manager. His hard work and dedication paid off, as he rose through the ranks to become the Chief Executive Officer in March 2002, succeeding Strive Masiyiwa.
