A 16-year-old Prince Edward School student has been arrested in connection with a violent assault on a 28-year-old housemaid in Mabelreign, Harare. According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the altercation began when the maid confronted the student over US$100 that had allegedly gone missing from her room. The confrontation escalated into violence, with the teenager reportedly using an electric shocker and a kitchen knife to attack the woman, inflicting multiple stab wounds to her neck. The victim survived the assault and is currently recovering.
The arrest operation, captured on video, showed armed officers conducting a tense room-by-room search before locating the suspect hiding under curtains. The student, already injured, was taken into custody and has since been remanded by the courts.
